Ksamil or the Albanian Riviera.

If you look for accommodations on booking.com in Ksamil you find 242 choices! I have never seen such a small town with so many tourist establishments under construction and renovation. There are hundreds of apartments for rent between 19 and 30 Canadia dollars! Today I spoiled myself and took a room at the chic Hotel Castle for half the price offered by booking.com! I’ll pay 30 Euro, breakfast included, while Booking boasts of having the lowest price ‘verified’ at 95 CAD… Yesterday when I compared the prices for the Hotel Oscar (my starting point) I achieved a saving of 6 Euro. It appears to be true that you get the best prices for Hotels by showing up at the front desk and simply asking for it.

Ksamil is a beautiful little village with nice beaches and a worthy symbol of the Albanian Riviera. A bargain in comparison with the other Rivieras of the Mediterranean.

Here is a map of the journey from Igoumenitsa to Ksamil. It’s a journey of less than 58 kilometers that takes us through Butrint Park. The ruins of Butrint have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1992. See https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butrint

Okay, some last pictures of Greece with a rush hour caused by sheeps!

Then pictures of Albania with one of the small bunkers that are apparently found everywhere.
